Star of Andor hints at an even more expansive and intelligent second season of the Star Wars series.
Adria Arjona finds herself holding back on details concerning Andor's second season – yet her comments have effectively heightened anticipation for what lies ahead in this chapter of the Star Wars narrative.
"Discussing Andor fills me with apprehension," shared Arjona with a chuckle during a recent discussion with Harper's Bazaar. "However, what I can share is the upcoming season has expanded in scale and depth in ways that even caught me off guard."
In the Disney Plus series, Arjona embodies the role of the mechanic Bix Caleen, working alongside Diego Luna, who portrays the central figure, the insurgent spy Cassian Andor. Existing as an antecedent to the 2016 motion picture Rogue One, the series transpires half a decade earlier, during the foundational phase of the Rebel Alliance's emergence to challenge the Galactic Empire. Among the ensemble cast are Fiona Shaw, Kyle Soller, Stellan Skarsgård, and Genevieve O'Reilly.
The inaugural season of Andor raked in critical acclaim upon its release on Disney Plus in 2022, with the eagerly awaited second season concluding its production this year following postponements caused by the WGA writers' strike and the SAG-AFTRA actors' strike. Tony Gilroy, the series creator, has expressed that this project stands as the zenith of his creative portfolio.
Arjona's latest venture is Hit Man, a blend of action and romantic comedy. In it, she stars opposite Glen Powell under Richard Linklater's direction. The film is now playing in cinemas and will make its Netflix debut on June 7. Additionally, she appears in Blink Twice, the directorial initiation of Zoë Kravitz, scheduled for release this August. It features Channing Tatum, Naomi Ackie, and Christian Slater.
